Canadian born Christine Wunderlich fell in love with dance as a young teenager. She first studied dance at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and then went on to finish her training at the prestigious Alvin Ailey School in NYC.
After graduating with honours, Christine began freelancing in NYC and was soon offered a job to perform with Royal Caribbean Productions, travelling and entertaining audiences around the world. This was also her introduction to the aerial world, when casted as a harness-flying show girl! Christine was hooked and began training and performing aerial silks, lyra, bungee harness and various unique bespoke aerial apparatuses.
After being hand-selected by Manfred (Thierry) Mugler and Alexandra Georgieva, Christine joined Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin where for the next 10 years she had the privilege perform on the world’s biggest theater stage. There she was featured as an aerialist and dancer in several productions including, Show:Me, The Wyld, The One and VIVID Grand Shows.
Christine has grown her love of aerial and holds a diploma as Trainer in Circus Arts from Montreal’s École Nationale de Cirque (National Circus School of Canada), and is an ACE (American Circus Educators) certified Aerial Physique Master Trainer with Jill Franklin’s Aerial Physique based in Los Angeles, California. She now leads Aerial Physique Teacher Training’s throughout Europe on behalf of Jill Franklin.
Currently, Christine lives in Berlin, Germany where she is a freelance coach and choreographer. She is the Acrobatic Coach and Supervisor for the Friedrichstadt-Palast Ballet as well as a regular guest teacher at the Staatliche Artistenschule Berlin (Germany’s National Circus School) and the SENECA Intensiv – Bildungs Jahr Contemporary Circus Program.
It is her passion to combine both art forms, creating a fusion of “dance in the air” and bringing her unique style to performance, choreography and teaching.
